Touring her 5th studio album, ‘Human Again’, Ingrid Michaelson comes to The Glee Club on Nov 5th.
Playing only 3 dates in England – 1 in Scotland, 3 in Ireland, Michaelson is back over the pond promoting her latest single, ‘Blood Brothers’.
Continuing Michaelson’s piano and guitar led Indie Pop portfolio, ‘Human Again’ was produced by David Kahne; the man behind Fishbone’s first 3 albums and Regina Specktor’s 2006 release, ‘Begin to Hope’. On release in the UK from July this year, ‘Human Again’ is Michaelson’s first album with Mom+Pop Records; alongside her own label – Cabin 24 Records.
Born to creative parents, her mother a sculptor and her father a composer, Ingrid Michaelson grew up in New York. Involved in arts and performance from an early age, reportedly learning the piano from the age of 4, Michaelson graduated from Binghamton University with a degree in Theatre.
Focusing on music from 2002, Ingrid Michaelson self recorded and released her debut album, ‘Slow the Rain’, in 2005 – also streaming it through MySpace. Her subsequent album, ‘Girls & Boys’, was picked up by the producers of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy; with album track ‘Breakable’ being used on the ‘Staring at the Sun’ episode in November 2006.
Despite increasing attention and offers from various labels, Michaelson retained her independence and continued to feature on Grey’s Anatomy, providing a total of 14 tracks to the TV Drama’s soundtrack.
Ingrid Michaelson’s music has also appeared on One Tree Hill, Scrubs, Body of Proof and The Vampire Diaries.
